HONG KONG, April 23rd, 2015 – Olabs Technology Co., Ltd., a leading flexible network physical infrastructure solutions provider, was invited by China Telecom to hold a briefing of MPO for the personnel from China Telecom and it’s IDC under the coordination of Olabs’ distributor.
According to Olabs' distributor, China Telecom planned to use MPO solution to replace the traditional splicing cabling system in some of their data centers a few years ago. As the network development in China is fast, the traditional cabling system is not able to satisfy the growing needs of the internet bandwidth due to the emerge of cloud computing, big data applications, data centers interconnection and 100G network, etc.. Many telecom companies would like to get into the details on MPO solution in order to plan ahead for their network deployment and expansion in the coming 3~5 years.
Mr Fu, the general manager said that most telecom operators have realized the benefits of deploying MPO solution, but only a few operators have adopted it in their data centers. As MPO has been getting better developed, the cost performance has increased a lot. The price of MPO solution is now comparable with the traditional splicing solution while MPO has better scalability and is able to support 40G/100G network that provides an unbeatable advantage over the traditional splicing cabling solution.
Mr Fu mentioned that some mobile network operators have deployed MPO in their infrastructure and some banks in Chengdu are considering adopting MPO in their cabling system in order to meet the increasing needs on bandwidth. The demand on MPO solution will keep increasing in the coming few years. Olabs agreed and planned to hold more seminars and trainings in Chengdu in order to deliver their professional knowledge in the industry and assist the network development the Chengdu Telecom industry.
Olabs’ MPO solution has been installed in some mobile operators’ data centers in Chengdu. Later on, they will arrange some MPO samples with the China Western Information Center for testing.
